Breath is life.... Time to learn how to breathe. I know you already know how to breathe because your body does it for you...Big hug to your autonomic nervous system. In yoga we go a little deeper and learn how to be aware of our breath, and use our breath to assist our body to relax, go deeper into postures, and prepare for meditation. So today start in easy pose, and put one hand on your chest and the other hand on your belly. Begin take deep full inhales, and deep full exhales. Become aware of how your body moves when you breath. Where do you feel your breath in your body? Do you feel your belly/chest rise and fall as you inhale and exhale? Notice everything you can about how it feels to take a deep inhale and exhale. Notice how it feels when you fill your lungs with breath. Spend a little time here to explore how it feels to consciously breathe. You may notice you feel more alert and yet relaxed after this simple practice. Try to do this for about five minutes. If you start feeling stressed or burned out through out your day come back to this practice, and do a little conscious breathing to help you relax.
